Joe Biden: Stay On Your Front Porch

James A. Cox barnstormed the country, giving speeches all over the place in his effort to defeat Warren G. Harding for president. Harding, however, kept to his own front porch. Harding won by a landslide to become the 29th president of the United States. Joe Biden should emulate Harding, not Cox.

The coronavirus is a perfect excuse for this strategy. Why endanger the candidate and his supporters when all relevant information can be conveyed from the front porch using the Internet, television and radio?

Moreover, a front porch strategy allows Biden to better control his message and avoid the gaffes he is known to frequently commit. We really don’t need any more stories about his being arrested trying to see Mandela or blowups telling a voter he’s full of shit.

Of course, Trump will ridicule Biden and barnstorm across the country. Let him be the fool he is. Maybe he’ll contract coronavirus. If he does, he won’t be in my thoughts and prayers.

So I say to Joe Biden: stay calm and cool and don’t leave your front porch until inauguration day.
